Creating space. Building skills. Supporting emotional well-being—together.

Emotional Awareness Advocates (EAA) is a growing community of individuals committed to understanding emotions, responding with intention, and supporting others through mindful, compassionate engagement. Rooted in the work of Unpacking Emotional Baggage, the Advocate pathway blends self-reflection with practical tools you can use in everyday life, education, and community settings.

What Is Emotional Awareness?

Emotional awareness is the ability to recognize, name, and understand emotions—your own and others’—and respond rather than react. It’s not about avoiding emotions; it’s about learning how to work with them in healthy, constructive ways.

At the heart of our approach is the ARMS Framework:

  • Assess what you’re feeling and what’s happening around you

  • Reflect on triggers, patterns, and meaning

  • Manage emotions with practical strategies

  • Support yourself and others with care and intention

Who Are Emotional Awareness Advocates?

Emotional Awareness Advocates are people who:

  • Value emotional well-being as essential to personal and collective growth

  • Want language and tools to navigate emotions confidently

  • Are committed to safe, respectful, and inclusive conversations

  • Believe emotional awareness strengthens relationships, learning, leadership, and community

Advocates come from many walks of life—educators, students, professionals, caregivers, community leaders, creatives, and lifelong learners.

What Advocates Do

As an Emotional Awareness Advocate, you may:

  • Practice ongoing self-awareness and reflection

  • Participate in guided conversations and learning experiences

  • Use emotional awareness tools in classrooms, workplaces, families, or community spaces

  • Help create environments where people feel seen, heard, and supported

  • Serve as a connector, pointing others to healthy resources and conversations

Advocates are not therapists—they are informed, intentional supporters who know how to hold space and encourage growth.
